The 2025 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship IV Disciplinary Panel has issued a one (1) game suspension to Armenia’s Malakyan, Eduard (number 4) for violating Official Playing Rule 42 (Charging).  

The incident occurred at 53:29 in the 3rd period of Game number 12 between Armenia and Iran on 17 April 2025. 
  
The Championship Disciplinary Panel determined that the Player in a race for a puck battle with his opponent elevated and violently checked his opponent causing an injury.  

While his opponent was eligible to be checked, the Player strayed low and tucked hitting through the shoulder and core, without elevating into his opponent causing excessive force.  

Therefore, as the Player violated Official Playing Rule 42 – Charging, he shall be sanctioned as follows: 

• Suspension for one game  

Due to the suspension, the Player will miss today’s game between Indonesia and Armenia.
