Three Teams Chase First-Ever Continental Cup Final Spot
Angers are the only team in the Group C quartet with prior Final experience, having reached it in 2015 and 2023. Their magnificent 3,586-capacity IceParc hosted both the Second Round and a Final tournament of the competition in 2023, when the team in blue, red, and white marched to second place. Last season´s Ligue Magnus finalists are pre-tournament favourites to claim one of the coveted spots and make a third Continental Cup Final appearance.
After stumbling at this stage two years ago, Cortina will look to bounce back in their second appearance in the competition. Although their recent league form has been patchy, the Italian champions competing in the Central European AlpsHL hope to remain in contention right until the tournament´s closing game against Angers.
With a vastly experienced all-Latvian roster, Mogo breezed through the previous round in Vilnius, Lithuania, with a perfect record. Their only prior appearance at this stage came in 2016, resulting in three straight losses. This time around, the Latvians enter with better chances to make an impact.
Powering through Group B on home ice, Gyergyo from Gheorgheni are currently in red-hot form. Having lost only one competitive game out of 25 this season, they aim to clinch Romania’s first-ever appearance in the Continental Cup Final. The Transylvanians´ credentials will be tested immediately in the tournament opener against Cortina.
