The 2026 edition of the Global Girls Game is off to an energetic and thrilling start, as the worldwide tournament's initial result comes from Sweden.

All scores and summaries will be posted on IIHF.com through to the event's conclusion on 9 March, with dozens of games taking place this weekend in Asia, the Americas, Europe and elsewhere.

The annual event showcases female hockey and is intended to promote the game so more girls can hit the ice and fall in love with the wonderful sport of hockey.

It's almost time to drop the puck on the 2026 edition of Global Girls’ Game (GGG). This year's event commences on March 6 and will feature dozens of hockey games.

The Global Girls' Game originated in 2015 and is a unique event that unites female hockey players from around the world. Each of the individual games take place between Team Blue and Team White and all scores are kept to have one final winner between the two sides.

All games and scores will be posted on IIHF.com so keep it locked here to see who comes away with the 2026 title. Summaries will also include highlights from various countries in Asia, Europe, the Americas and even Africa.

Skellefteå, Sweden

Comments :
Strong first and third periods led Team Blue - represented by host Skellefteå - to the victory over Team White, a group of hockey players from Brynås. Goalkeeper Camryn Drever backstopped Skellefteå to the win and she was helped out by Nikita Bergmann, Jenna Pirttijårvi, Laura Lerchova and Sara Lindqvist.
Brynås stayed in the game right to the end and a lot of that was due to the hard work of Noora Tulous, Vivi Vainikka, Hanna Thuvik and Elin Svensson.

Joetsu, Japan

N° : 2 Date : 7 March 2026 Time (Local/CET) : 19:00 / 10:00 Score (Blue/White) : 7-1

A mix of generations took the ice for a special hockey game at the Region Plaza Joetsu Ice Arena. Children, young adults, adults and seniors were mixed into two teams to share smiles, laughs and celebrate their love of hockey. Players came from Niigata Prefecture and Nagano, host site of the 1998 Olympic Winter Games.
Kokona Ishiguro and Hana Yasuda each scored two goals and had an assist to lead Team Blue's offensive attack.
The most memorable moment of the game, though, was when Koharu Tsuchiya - the youngest competitor at age 10 - scored for the eventual winning side.

Velké Popovice, Czechia

Twenty-three athletes from the country took part in Czechia's contribution to the 2026 Global Girls' Game.
Team Blue took the ice in green jerseys and earned a hard-fought 3-1 victory. The game was a tremendous showcase of sportsmanship and competitiveness and also promoted the development of female hockey in Czechia.

Turku, Finland

N° : 4 Date : 6 March 2026 Time (Local/CET) : 13:30 / 13:30 Score (Blue/White) : 0-2

A large crowd and exciting playoff game made Finland's Global Girls' Game one to remember.
HIFK from Helsinki entered the best-of-five series with a 2-1 lead and needed one win to close out the quarterfinal series against TPS, the homeside from Turku. The game was also televised nationally on Kutonen.
Both teams competed hard in a scoreless first period and the icebreaker came at 14 minutes 20 seconds of the second period when HIFK took a 1-0 lead. The battle continued until the late stages of the game, with HIFK securing the win with an empty-net goal in the third.

Pasay City, Philippines

The Philippines held an earlier Global Girls' Game as members of the national team competed in the IIHF World Women's Division III Group B Championship in late February and early March (the Philippines finished fifth at the worlds).
The GGG featured a mix of participants, including younger players, new female
athletes who recently joined the sport, and several foreign female players currently based in the
Philippines. The game created a welcoming environment that encouraged participation and
promoted the growth of women’s hockey in the country.
Kamil Cubillo led the winning side with a hat trick.

Copenhagen, Denmark

N° : 6 Date : 6 March 2026 Time (Local/CET) : 15:00 / 20:00 Score (Blue/White) : 21-50

The Danes ran three games at once on the ice surface, which led to goals aplenty!
NInety athletes took the ice in blue and white Danish Super Girls jerseys for the Global Girls' Game and skated hard for 70 minutes, changing shifts every 90 seconds. Ages ranged from as young as six to 15 and players came from 10 different clubs.
Lots of laughs were shared and, though we would need an IIHF.com fact checker to confirm, this could go down as the highest-scoring GGG ever.

Budapest, Hungary

N° : 7 Date : 7 March 2026 Time (Local/CET) : 13:10 / 12:10 Score (Blue/White) : 2-1

Thirty-two players took to the ice at the Tüskecsarnok Arena in Budapest. Captain Petra Toma opened the scoring just under three minutes into the first period to give Team Blue a 1-0 lead.
Lili Hadarics tied the game late in the first and it remained 1-1 until the third period when Rebeka Alapi finished off a play started by Toma for the game-winning goal.

Riga, Latvia

N° : 8 Date : 7 March 2026 Time (Local/CET) : 15:40 / 15:40 Score (Blue/White) : 0-4

Comments :
Kitija Duce, Aline Sardina, Baiba Kurme and Agnese Varlamova scored the goals for Team White, which was represented by SHK Laima, during a 4-0 win over Team Blue (HS Kurbads/Lauvas).
The game took place at the Kurbads Ice Rink in Latvia and was also part of the Baltic Women's Hockey Championship.
A total of 29 players took the ice for this version of the Global Girls' Game.

Leeuwarden, Netherlands

N° : 9 Date : 7 March 2026 Time (Local/CET) : 13:30 / 14:30 Score (Blue/White) : 0-3

Under-16 national team player Sophie Lord showed her skills during the Netherlands' Global Girls' Game, scoring two goals and adding an assist as Team White earned a 3-0 shutout win. Jana Carmona was also a standout with a goal and an assist.
The two club teams competing on this day were OG Capitals Leeuwarden (White) and Unis Flyers Heerenveen (Blue).
"It was certainly an enjoyable and, above all, exciting match. The goalies played well. Leeuwarden scored the goals that Heerenveen failed to score," said the Leeuwarden head coach. "I was satisfied with the game we played. Especially in the second period, which was the best period of the season. We play with women aged 13 to 52, so you can be proud that we secured this victory. Our first line made the difference in this game."

Bei'an, China

Jixi City and Qiqihar City faced off in the Heilongjiang Provincial Ice Hockey Championship.
Li Yuchen was named player of the game as her exceptional speed and precision passing led to a number of goals for the high-scoring White side.
The teams represent the highest level of female hockey in China, with athletes ranging in age from 10-18. More than 300 people were in the stands cheering on the two sides.

Ferlach, Austria

N° : 11 Date : 7 March 2026 Time (Local/CET) : 17:15 / 16:15 Score (Blue/White) : 3-7

This was meant a lot as the Austria GGG was played as part of the European Women's Hockey League regular season. Team Blue (Lakers Kärnten) needed two points to qualify for the league playoffs but fell 7-3 to Team White (Aisulu Almaty).
Blue tied the game 1-1 in the first before the White team roared ahead with three unanswered goals. With the win, Aisulu Almaty finishes second in the league standings and will now prepare for the quarterfinals.
Some members of the Blue team will keep competing as they will play at the Under-18 Austrian championships on 3 and 4 April.

Madrid, Spain

N° : 12 Date : 7 March 2026 Time (Local/CET) : 15:00 / 14:00 Score (Blue/White) : 2-0

Goalkeeper Carolina Moreno earned the shutout as the upstart CG Puigcerdà (Blue) beat SH Majadahonda (White) in the opening game of the Liga Iberdrola Ice Hockey Championship. Paula Giménez and Judit Pareja scored for the winning side, which is chasing its first-ever league title.
The Madrid-based SH Majadahonda is the most successful franchise in league history, with eight titles.

Covilhã, Portugal

N° : 13 Date : 7 March 2026 Time (Local/CET) : 11:30 / 11:30 Score (Blue/White) : 7-5

The Serra da Estrela Ice Arena might be a td on the small side, measuring 400 square metres (a standard hockey rink size is approximately 1,500 sq m). But that didn't stop another recrod-sized group of girls from taking part in Portugal's GGG.
For the third straight year, player participation increased as the two teams battled in 3 v 3 action over the course of two 25-minute periods.
Jayla B from the White team led the way with three goals and an assist and Rita Pires from Team Blue also recorded a hat trick.
